Market Rasen > Bed & Breakfast (B&B) > Station House BB

Station House BandB is on the Lincoln - Grimsby railway line, and is located on the B1205 between Moortown and Nettleton on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Now in our 4th year of BandB here at Station House we offer a convenient location to base your visit to the Lincolnshire Wolds, or a useful stopping off point for anyone touring Lincolnshire and the East Coast generally. We are about 11 scenic miles from Humberside International Airport, and 6 miles from Market Rasen, with its wide selection of shops and racecourse. You are assured a warm welcome from Charmayne and Ian, who will be pleased to explain any questions via e-mail or telephone in advance of bookings. We can take deposit by card or cheque, and payments by card, cash or cheque. It is less than 20 miles to the coast and less than that to the historic fishing port of Grimsby. Lincoln is about 22 miles to the South. Drawing on a combination between us of many years experience in the catering and tourism trades we aim to provide high quality accommodation in an unusual setting, a breakfast to set you up for your day of walking, exploring and sightseeing, and an experience which we hope will encourage you and your friends to visit on a future occasion. Our bedrooms and the guest lounge have all been refurbished in the last two years - We have a double room with en-suite, and a twin bedded room - this room has exclusive use of the adjacent First Floor bathroom (with bath and shower). There is a separate Guest Lounge with television. Wi Fi throughout. All guest accommodation is on the first floor). For families requiring accommodation beyond a double and a twin we are able to let a small (recently redecorated) box room, with a 4 foot bed, although the occupant would have to share either the bathroom if the other couple were occupying the Twin Room, or the en-suite if the other couple were in that room. For walkers exploring the Viking Way we can usually arrange pick ups and drop offs at pre-arranged points and subsequent destinations, both for walkers and their luggage. The station building was built around 1850 by the Manchester Sheffield and Lincoln Railway Company. Moortown Station was the nearest station to Caistor and was known at that time as 'Moortown for Caistor'. The Station was closed in the 1960s but the line remains open and is the link between Lincoln and Grimsby, the nearest station being at Barnetby le Wold some 8 miles North of here.
